Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr
Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel.  Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind).  So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me?  Pantser?  I think?  But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid.  And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly.  And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling :aww:

Music Is My Inspiration ContestWell guys I've decided to start my own contest, because I had awesome feedback on the idea ^_^
It'll be my first contest that I've held...EVER! So it's very exciting :3
So, about the theme of the contest. Well whenever I've felt down and blue because I've been slapped upside the head with an art block, I like to wallow in self pity and blast my favourite tunes XD (LOL) It's extremely therapeutic :P and it really does help to inspire me with new ideas :D.

Howdy howdy howdy!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful February so far. I have been BUSY. I think my only free day is the 24th, and that is kinda up in the air. Between work, freelancing, renovating the house, and all that other jazz… I'm kind of a tired little Ashree. But I'm also a very happy Ashree so that's what matters <3 I have an event at work this Thursday so I'm taking a minute to breathe as I'll be running around like a headless chicken the rest of the week. I also am going to be looking at wedding venues on Friday :3 So much to do! I have been very fortunate to collaborate with a wonderful makeup artist, ~Pancake-mix, and I'm super excited to work with her again in the future~ Here's her concept that she brought to life, the lovely ~pockyfairy modeled, and I photographed:



I have a few shoots I am hoping to do in March, Imma throw *ChibiChise on some rocks yo, so I already need to start planning ahead. Keep your eyes peeled! I also need to get a hop on cosplay related things… as of this journal A-Kon is 106 days away~~ (YAY and NOOOO I'M NOT READY). I'm going to be at Matsuri for sure now (what up WCS), and I may be attending All Con for a day. I won't actually be cosplaying until May, though. I've been going to the gym regularly in preparation and jglkdjgkdljfg it's hard but I'm already seeing the benefits of it. Plus, they have water massage beds and it's so worth it to bust my ass while there if only for the hydro massage after lol.
