Hi, wonderful watchers and lovely lurkers. It's May... Which means that at my time of typing this journal up there are only 30 days and 9 hours left until A-Kon 23 is upon us

/

I have been a little slow in getting started with cosplay plans this year, but I've finally got the ball rolling. I'm very excited for con season to pop up. I will be playing the game slightly differently at this coming A-Kon. No photo shoots on Saturday at all as I wanna be sure I can chill with my con buddies and enjoy cosplaying for more than a few hours at a time. Knowing me, however, I will sill have my camera ready to snap a few head shots... but my costume will be a bit cumbersome for going into full photographer-modo

Also, the pre-planned shoots that I
am going to be doing will only be 20-25~ minutes instead of the usual 45-50. But I am confident that we'll knock the cosplay photography ball out of the convention park this year ^__^ I've gotten a lot better in skill since my last convention, so I'm definitely itching to stretch my photographer muscles at A-Kon!
So far this year has been a bit of a blur, but in a good way. I swear, back before I started my current job I had all the time in the world to waste and hardly ever hung out with new friends or groups of people. Now it's the exact opposite, but I definitely feel like I am living my life to the fullest at the moment. I used to be such a slacker in many regards but I've really been pushing myself to get better at many things over the past year and I can tell the hard work is paying off *u*
April was definitely a whirlwind, but alksdjla;ksdj I had such a blast. Roadtrips, photo shoots, Scarby, great hangouts, fantastic people and the like have been such a blessing. Surrounding myself with supportive, positive and inspiring people has really helped me stay grounded and focused

I know May is going to fly by as well, so hopefully I can buckle down and knock out my projects on top of keeping my head above the water.
On May 19th I'm going to be in a local art festival called Arts Goggle, everyone who is from DFW should come visit! It starts at 4pm, and while my art will be there the entire time I won't until a little before 6pm. It kind of ends whenever, it's basically a big block party where they exhibit local artists. I'll be right next to my talented friend *
Mandylo at Shaw's on Magnolia. I'm pretty excited, it looks like she got us some primo spots that'll be right by all the action! I hope Whiskey Folk Ramblers play again like they did last year, they put on a really great live performance.
There are a few others things I'm still waiting on the greenlight to announce, but they should be coming up soon :3 I have a few other projects planned, some more conceptual stuff that I can't wait to start fleshing out more. I'd talk about it a little more on here but I think it would be neater if it was a surprise! Until then I can busy myself with my first product photography shoot, fleshing out some conceptual photo themes, and other bidness no one really cares to read about XD
Until next time!
